    About the family

Hewnblade looks like it was cut with a chisel rather than drawn with a pen. The stems widen as they reach the baseline and end in small sharp triangles instead of flat serifs, so every letter seems to stand on its own point. There is some thick and thin in the strokes, enough to feel formal, not so much that it gets fussy. The proportions are tall and narrow, the A, M and N come to crisp points, and the lowercase is tall enough to keep up with the capitals. It runs from Light to Bold in five weights: Light reads like a fine engraving, Bold like the name over a bank door. Long words fit where they would not fit otherwise.
