About the family
Vigrelgate is a round blackletter with a lot of ink in it. Unlike the spiky gothic styles, its bowls stay open and round and its feet end flat, but the pen pressure is pushed hard, so the downstrokes are massive and the joins and hairlines are very thin. The capitals are compact and a little ornamental, with hooked strokes on letters like G and Z, and the figures are heavy and clear. Light, Regular and Medium go from crisp to very dark. It gives a strong gothic flavour while staying readable, which makes it good for labels and headings that need weight.
