About the family
Tarmacthorn is a grotesque that dressed up for the evening. The vertical stems are heavy and the horizontals thin right down to hairlines, so the e becomes a dark ring with a thread across it and the o is dark at the sides and light at the top and bottom. The shapes stay simple and sans, with flat terminals and a double storey a, but the contrast gives every word a bit of glamour. The weights run Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold and Black, and the Black is dramatic enough for a magazine cover. Keep it at display sizes where the hairlines can be seen and admired.
