Stodgygate
The classic poster fat face at normal width: heavy black stems, hairline serifs and ball ends, loud and upright.

About the family
Stodgygate is the fat face you picture on a Victorian playbill. The stems are heavy and black, the hairlines and flat serifs are very thin, and the bowls pinch their counters down to small shapes of white. Balls hang off the a, c, f, j and r, and the stress is straight up and down. The width is normal, so it sets a comfortable line of words rather than one giant one. Light, Regular and Medium all look heavy; each step just adds a little more black. It likes an announcement with a bit of ceremony to it.
