How it looks in use
Parchenfell
A wide, easygoing calligraphic serif with roomy capitals, a curly y and numbers that lean forward.

About the family
Parchenfell takes a calligrapher's roman and gives it elbow room. The capitals are broad and open, the lowercase stretches sideways with soft flag tops on b, d, h and l, and the pen contrast is moderate: you can see where the nib turned, but nothing snaps to a hairline. Small touches keep it handmade, like the curled tail on the y and the numbers that lean forward as if written faster than the words. It runs from Light to Black in five weights, and Black turns it into something warm and heavy enough for a storefront.
