How it looks in use
Oakenpress
A heavy, bracketed slab serif with ball terminals and a lot of ink, even in its lightest weight.

About the family
Oakenpress is a Clarendon in the old sense: dark, wide and confident. Serifs are thick slabs joined to the stems with soft curves, the a and c and r finish in round balls, and the capitals are broad and sturdy. Even the Light is already a bold face by most standards, and Regular and Medium press further into the page until the counters are small and the letters look carved from one block. It reads like a nineteenth century bill or a seed catalogue cover, and it wants to be set big.
