About the family
Nurnelbroad is a schwabacher pulled wide. The pointed oval bowls of the a and o swing out, the curves break once and then carry on, and the broad pen gives the strokes gentle shading without any true hairlines. The counters are wide open, so it reads more easily than most blackletter, and the capitals are round and plain. It comes in five weights, Light to Bold, and the Bold is properly dark. It sits somewhere between a roman and a gothic, which makes it handy when you want a bit of history but still need people to read the words.
