About the family
Lapidogate is a serif with the steadiness of carved lettering. Strokes stay nearly even from thick to thin, the endings flare into small crisp serifs, and the capitals take their proportions from classical inscriptions, with a round O and a broad M. The lowercase is compact and a little narrow, with a double-storey a and a small-bowled g, so text sets tight and orderly. Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Black cover a gentle caption up to a heavy name over a doorway. It works well where something needs to feel official without looking stiff: a plaque, a program, a law firm letterhead.
