About the family
Frostneedle is a condensed Didone of the fashion masthead kind. The stems are heavy, the thin strokes and flat serifs are hairlines that meet the stem at a sharp right angle, and the stress is strictly vertical. Every round letter becomes a tall narrow oval, so a long word fits across a cover without shrinking. The a and g are both double storey, the R has a thin straight leg that kicks out at the foot, and the lowercase keeps long ascenders. Regular, Medium and SemiBold add weight to the stems while the hairlines stay fine. Set it big and let the paper show through.
