How it looks in use
Doodrelmere
A classic book serif drawn by hand in pencil, every stroke filled with diagonal hatching, in six weights.
Doodrelmere
About the family
Doodrelmere takes the shapes of a classic book serif and fills them in by hand. Look close and every stroke is packed with diagonal pencil hatching, two or three passes deep, with the edges a little rough where the pencil ran past the line. The stems carry denser hatching than the thin strokes, which gives it an easy thick and thin. From a distance it reads like a proper old style roman; up close it looks like a patient afternoon with a sharp pencil. Six weights run from Light to Black, and the heavier ones get darker and more worked over, as if the artist kept going.
