How it looks in use
Briarcross
A narrow tuscan with forked serifs and little spurs at mid stem. Circus flyer energy.

About the family
Briarcross is a narrow, heavy serif where every serif splits in two like a fish tail and each stem grows a small spur halfway up. It is the look of a travelling show poster or a saloon sign, but drawn tidy and upright, so it reads more easily than most of its kind. Letters are condensed and the x-height is large, which lets you fit a long headline across a narrow space. The three weights climb from crisp to quite dark. The ornament is the whole point, so give it room. Below about 18 pixels the forks and spurs blur into smudges.
