How it looks in use
Upendbroad
A wide slab where the horizontals and serifs are heavier than the stems, just the wrong way round on purpose.

About the family
Upendbroad puts the weight where you do not expect it. The serifs and horizontal strokes are big and heavy, the vertical stems are slimmer, and the letters are wide and planted, so every word looks like it is standing on railway sleepers. This upside down contrast is an old trick from wood type posters, and it still turns heads. The counters are small and square, and the lowercase keeps the same heavy slabs. Light, Regular and Medium are here, each one a bit more stubborn than the last. Use it large, in short bursts.
