How it looks in use
Tweedelmere
A sturdy Scotch roman with ball terminals, crisp serifs and six weights that all behave on the page.

About the family
Tweedelmere is the kind of serif that made old newspapers and textbooks look trustworthy. Stress is vertical, serifs are firmly bracketed, and the thin strokes are real but never fragile, so it stays crisp in small sizes. Look for the ball ends on c, r and a, the round O kept slightly narrow, and a generous x-height that keeps lines easy on the eye. It runs from a slender Light to a dark Black with no loss of manners: the Light suits a quiet paragraph, the Black a front page headline. If you want your words to sound calm, informed and slightly formal, this is a good suit to put them in.
