How it looks in use
Stoutelthorn
A slab serif with a fat face: thick black stems and slabs against thin, sharp curves.
Stoutelthorn
About the family
Stoutelthorn crosses a slab serif with a Victorian fat face. Stems and slabs are heavy black bars, while curves and crossbars thin down sharply, so every letter flashes between dark and light. The slabs are square and unbracketed, bowls are round and open, and the g and y finish with small ball ends. It is loud in the way old playbills were loud: big, black and confident, but with a bit of polish. Regular and Medium are both heavy, with Medium pushing the stems even further. Use it big, give it room, and let it do the shouting.
