About the family
Stoutelbroad is a slab serif that takes the whole sidewalk. The letters are wide, the bowls are broad and round, and the slabs are as thick as the stems, cut square with no brackets. The horizontals sit a little lighter than the verticals, so it never looks like a solid block. There is a double-storey a, a G with a flat spur, and numbers wide enough to read from across a car park. Light and Regular are both included, and both feel dependable, like a sign bolted to brick. It is the type that says the shop opens at eight and it means eight.
