How it looks in use
Quillcry
A very narrow grotesque with heavy stems and thin joins, made for headlines that run tall down the page.
Quillcry
About the family
Quillcry is a grotesque squeezed until it stands on its toes. The letters are far taller than they are wide, the x-height is huge and the ascenders are short, so a line of lowercase looks like a picket fence of heavy stems. Where the strokes turn or join they thin out sharply, which gives the whole thing the snap of a fashion cover rather than the thud of a poster sans. The figures are just as narrow and fit a lot into very little space. Regular, Medium and SemiBold get steadily blacker. Set it big, set it tight, and let the white space do the rest.
