How it looks in use
Quadbythorn
Tall square letters with heavy stems and hairline roofs, like a row of dark towers wired together.
Quadbythorn
About the family
Quadbythorn is a square sans pushed tall and narrow, then built out of contrast. The vertical strokes are thick flat slabs and the horizontals are hairlines, so the H reads as two towers with a wire strung between them and the O as a dark upright box with a thin lid and floor. Corners are barely eased, bowls are rectangles, and the counters shrink to slim slots. Light keeps the stems lean; Regular makes them properly heavy. Set a long word in it and you get a skyline, which is exactly the point.
