A square sans with every corner cut at 45 degrees, so the round letters come out as soft octagons.
Quadbycarve
About the family
Quadbycarve is a square sans where no corner is left round. Every turn is cut at 45 degrees, so the O becomes a soft octagon and the shoulder of the n is a short flat facet instead of a curve. Stems are a touch heavier than the horizontals, crossbars run wide and flat, and there are no serifs. The width is normal and the letters stand upright, which makes it steady enough for more than a headline. Light, Regular and Medium keep the same clipped corners. It looks like a nameplate stamped into steel.
