About the family
Muntinslim is built like a narrow tower drawn on graph paper. Every letter sits on a square grid, the uprights are thick bars and the crossing strokes are thin lines, so each character reads as sturdy columns held together by threads. Curves are replaced by square steps, the counters come out as tall rectangles, and the diagonals in V, W and X move in small stair steps. The figures and punctuation stay on the same grid. Light, Regular, Medium and SemiBold build up the columns while the thin bars stay thin. It packs a lot of letters into a small width and keeps a cool, architectural look while doing it.
