    About the family

Gridslim is assembled rather than drawn. Each letter comes from the same few parts: a thick vertical bar, a thinner horizontal bar and one narrow rounded corner, clicked together at right angles. The result is tall and condensed with a clear difference between heavy uprights and light crossings, so words look like rows of columns. Round letters such as O, C and S become upright rectangles with softened corners, and the lowercase keeps a tall x-height with short ascenders. Light, Regular and Medium keep the same kit and just thicken the bars. It belongs next to the Joist family, the slimmest of them, made for places where the space is tall and the budget for width is small.
