How it looks in use
Giltthorn
A high-contrast didone whose thick stems are sliced by a single fine white line.
Giltthorn
About the family
Giltthorn starts from a classic didone: upright, vertical stress, heavy stems against very thin hairlines and crisp flat serifs. Then every thick stroke gets a fine white line cut down its length, while the hairlines and serifs stay solid. The result looks engraved, like the lettering on an old theater program or a perfume box. The g has a proper loop, the a and c end in round ball terminals, and the figures are as elegant as the caps. Light is delicate; Regular gives the split stems enough weight to catch the eye across a page.
