About the family
Gildencross is a deco face straight off a 1920s poster. The letters are clearly condensed and very tall, with thick verticals against hairline horizontals, and each stroke runs as one clean unbroken line. The shapes come from circles and rulers: the O is a narrow ellipse, the crossbars of A, E, F and H sit well above the middle, and the M folds a shallow V between its legs. The a and g are single storey. Regular, Medium and SemiBold keep the same elegance, getting a bit bolder each time. Put it on anything with a doorman.
