How it looks in use
Carvebroad
A wide flared serif with no serifs at all. The stems just open out at the ends like a trumpet.
Carvebroad
About the family
Carvebroad has no separate serifs. Each stroke simply widens at its end, a smooth flare that does the job a serif would do, so the letters feel carved rather than printed. The shapes are wide and a little swingy: the baseline rolls slightly, the curves have calligraphic energy and capitals are broad and classical. Six weights run from a fine Light to a dense, dramatic Black. The Light and Regular will hold a short passage. The heavier end is for titles. It is expressive, so it can feel costume-like next to strict modern layouts.
