A squeezed, heavy blackletter. Tall dark stems, sharp little shoulders, very little air between them.

About the family
Abbeyslim takes the round southern blackletter and pushes it into a tight column. What is left is dark and upright: heavy stems, small diamond feet, bowls pinched into narrow ovals and shoulders that break at an angle. A line of it looks like a row of iron railings. The three weights sit close together, so pick by how much black you want on the page, not by a big jump in tone. It fits a lot of words across a label, which is its real trick. Set it big and tight. Below headline size the counters close up and it turns into a dark stripe.
