About the family
Stamrogate is a poster grotesque built on one hard idea: the up and down strokes are thick and black, and nearly everything that runs across is a hairline. The H is two pillars with a thread between them, the e is a heavy ring with a whisper of a bar, and the lowercase stands tall with short tidy descenders. Then the figures break ranks. They are wide, flat and blocky, as if they came from a different printing shop to shout the date. Light, Regular and Medium keep that contrast sharp, so the thin strokes never quite vanish. Set it big and give it room, because the hairlines are the whole joke.
