About the family
Proembroad is an oldstyle roman given generous, wide proportions. The bowls are broad and round, the stress runs on a gentle diagonal, the head serifs slope, and the e has a little slanted bar. The x-height is small and the ascenders reach high, so text has lots of air in it. Contrast is moderate and the whole thing feels warm and calligraphic rather than stiff. Five weights, Light to Bold, cover everything from quiet body text to a heading with real presence. It reads like a well made book from a small press, and it looks especially good with generous line spacing.
