How it looks in use
Needlemere
A tall didone with hairline serifs, ball terminals and a Q that trails a long tail under its bowl.

About the family
Needlemere is a didone with nothing to hide. The stress is perfectly vertical, the thick stems are heavy, and the serifs and joins pinch down to fine hairlines that meet at sharp right angles. The letters are tall and close together, the a, c, f, g, r and y end in round ball terminals, and the Q drags a long detached tail beneath its bowl like a train on a gown. The figures stand at cap height. It comes in Regular, Medium and Bold, and each gets a little more dramatic. Set it big and give it a lot of white space, the way a magazine cover would.
