About the family
Muntinthorn takes the square grid seriously. Every stroke runs straight up or straight across, curves turn into little stepped corners, and the counters are clean rectangles. The upright strokes are heavy while the crossbars stay thin, which gives the letters a punchy, high contrast look that reads a bit like an old arcade screen dressed up for the evening. The lowercase keeps a compact single storey feel, and the figures and punctuation are cut from the same blocks. Light, Regular, Medium and SemiBold thicken the verticals step by step. Put it on a title screen, a sticker or a label and it looks like it came with a joystick.
